I'm older now and have wanted a Mopar muscle car since a teenager. I am interested in something restored--like a Scamp or Duster. Could someone please tell me what model year started with 3 point seatbelts in Dodge vehicles. While I realize the cars of this era (70s) are not as safe as contemporary cars, I'd feel a little better with more than a lapbelt. Thanks much.

I know in 70 to 73 they had a shoulder belt you could use or not. My 74 dart has the lap and shoulder belt attached and you only use one buckle like the new rigs.

Thank you all. It looks like 74 was mandatory (according to the Google) for 3 point belts. Now I just need to find a nice Dodge A body.

Welcome
You can put aftermarket 3 point belts in any model. I think you would like aftermarket belts better than the factorys seperate shoulder belts and buckles anyway.

Welcome,I remember s reprint of a Hot Rod 69 340 Dart the editor Eric Dahlquist was attaching 2 belts:eek:ne lap,one overhead.

Welcome to FABO!

You will enjoy this site. Great people and information!
