He built a mild 383 that put out 402 horse with headers. What will it pull with manifolds?
Watch to see.

383 hp at 5,700 rpm with a 268 duration cam.
Not bad numbers and vacuum for power brakes. It's all in the heads. 906's I believe he said.

I always liked the 383's. Longer rod but shorter stroke than a 350 Chevy. That one on Nick's dyno sounded pretty sweet a 6,000 R's.

Yes, they are sweet engines. I've gotten tired of chasing the "best" of everything and "no replacement for displacement". Most Mopar engines were plenty good enough...

Did you notice where he had the vac adv unit connected? Into the plenum, so he was using MVA. In his recent 455 Pontiac test, also used MVA, VA was plugged into the rear of the QJ base. This is something he seems to have changed recently with his testing...

Good eye. I would think dyno pulls would be fine with constant vacuum.

I know.. but It's only to fight off these traction controlled 485hp rovers,teslas,porche...etc.
At least we know old muscle is still king of the streets..hence the 408/416

You should start a channel on You tube. Play your cards right and people donate to your channel. Nice part time paper route. Some of my whiskey tasting tubers make $50,000+ a year just tasting whiskies and video taping it.
Nick owns a successful shop in Canada.

I know I'm talking a bunch of **** meanwhile doing my videos with a cell phone and phone editor app..lol@me.
I have a channel. I only just started it a little while back motivated by all the 302 head gospel being spread.. I dont ask for likes or to subscribe at the end of my videos. I do it cause I want to...I dont post vids every week however ..because I've not caught the youtube fever and didn't plan it as a revenue enhancer.
1wildsmopartech. That's all I got.

Now you didn't acknowledge the hair plug comment. Did you notice them?lmao

Never noticed. I will look see next time I am there. "Like, subscribe, and tell your friends" is all you need to say. I'll have to check your channel out.

Watching one of your 302 threads. You were attacking the guide and flowing the port. Good job of editing and superimposing flow/lift numbers. I think you are onto something.

I know you know. I have a 2009 R/T Challenger 6 speed with the stripes deleted. It has 4,000 miles on it. Nothing exciting about it. It sits in the garage. There is such a different and satisfying feeling of driving an original muscle car with a solid lifter cam, carburetor, distributor, and a 4 speed with a Hurst shifter. I have driven Porsche, Corvettes, and all kinds of other cars, and nothing puts a smile on my face like driving the 66 Formula S or the 68 383 Fastback. Neither have AC or power steering. Drive one of your cars, and then drive one of those traction controlled 485hp rovers, teslas, porche...etc. Not even close. One of the women at work drove an older Porsche and drove the 66 Formula S. The Porsche was sold within a month. At a Company dance her husband tried to make a point that American cars make more power, but foreign cars handle so much better. I didn't say a word.

Headers only as good as the parts that are in the engine. If you have a stock cam and stock heads then putting a header isnt going to do much. But if you have a higher lift cam and high flowing cylinder heads, ports, intake, etc then the headers will work better. Cast iron manifolds are best used for boat anchors.

Thanks. Been a long time I'm not getting notifications for a lot of responses to my posts, so I just now saw this.
I never knew about Uncle Tony and a lot of these things on YouTube until my recent return here. I see more and more everyday and I think it's diluted, if that's the right way to put it. A sea of good n bad info.

Helped Nick out twice and met him three times in person--the last job I did I called him for his Purolator account number so I could just ship all of his stuff back--He's VERY different in person. I decided I had no time in my life for him and I figured it was likewise. No harm no foul. My dyno service has been thriving in the meantime and I'm 1.5 hrs from NG. J.Rob
