I'm surprised nobody has made any comments about this lastest collaboration video.

GOOD/FAST/CHEAP pick any two=UTG is FAST & CHEAP so we are left with an engine that is no GOOD. J.Rob

Did you watch Tony live last night? He explained exactly what happened with the oil pressure loss and it totally makes sense. I had the same issue with my old 360 and a smaller base circle camshaft you need longer push rods because it'll create an oil leak from the lifter cup when the engine warms up.

Nick pulled a main cap and the bearings were clean. There sure was a lot of junk in the filter. The block wasn't cleaned much I would imagine.

Motors can be GOOD/FAST/CHEAP. You just have to have a clue of what you're doing. UTG not so much.

The amount of trash in the filter and the ridiculous miss on the lifter preload. :wtf:

The rockers sure were noisy towards the end. Nick found leaking core plugs and a rocker shaft turned around backwards as well as all the dirt in the filter after running a short time.

Nick pulled one cap- ya gotta pull them until you find the problem.
I've been stung doing this myself. It only takes one wrong main to show what this one did. J.Rob

After the oil filter inspection, I wouldnt have even bothered pulling the pan, the day would be over. I sure as heck wouldnt be testing with all of the things I saw and heard wrong In that video. In fact I would have been investigating further just from how hard it cranked over. UTG told me they are always hard with new cast rings---lol. J.Rob

I can't understand the concept of time deadline TV internet dirt ball engine build, if you do some type of low buck build at least start with a core engine of known history. Not something that's been underwater. UTG now has egg on his face.

Perfect example of what not to do when rebuilding an engine. I agree, you can reuse components that are still within specification. But block cleaning is a must! I'm surprised that motor didn't spin a bearing after cutting open that oil filter! 65'

It is in the process of spinning a bearing, trust me. 2 pulls ain't gonna do it, by pull 13 is usually when you are safe. J.Rob

He had a hydraulic cam go flat and pretty much blamed the cam and lifters. However, he used whatever oil he got at the store. So he is not really informed/aware of specific oils to use with flat tappets.

As I recall, the block that was brought for the build was not used. He donated one he had laying around, to the cause.

For a guy who claims to be building engines for 44 years he is hilariously clueless and unprofessional.

Nick can do far greater things with his content than fool with this guy. Not sure exactly why he got involved but if it sold ads and people are talking about it then Nick's garage will do fine. UTG has a cult obviously..... When I saw Nick turning it over on the dyno I went away. Pile......

If anything he really wasted a real engine builders time by giving some half assed excuse why an engine that was thrown together with subpar reused parts turned out to be a garbage build. I’ll keep watching as this junk progresses. Living in the past tony. Let people who do it on a daily basis take care of it while you tell everyone about “nitro” and how you were the first to do “this and that” in the 80’s.

I'm wondering what the newbie is out financially or his thoughts about all of this? Haven't really heard from him about it. I also get all of the negative comments about the build, but labels about meth seems to be wrong. If you don't like what he does or how he does it, so be it ....turn the page. Just my opinion.
