Well, I sold my Dart that I had for 16 years. And, the Valiant is almost parted out. I am a-body-less. I still have my Indy-headed 422, and my 904. An 8.75 housing/brakes out of a 71' truck. I was thinking it is time for something different. I may get out of the muscle-car era and do something a little crazy. I was at work, listening to my mp3 player sitting at a giant mediablasting cabinet, thinking. I had thought about a newer Dakota (97 or so) for the stroker. Then I got a truck in mind that I thought was Awesome...how many of you saw "the expendables"? That old ford that Sly drives is unreal. So, I'm thinking I might build a mopar version of that truck, out of a 55-57 Dodge. Use my small block, etc. Lowered, just satin black and nice chrome, better brakes/suspension, room for bigger tires, etc. I think I want something old that gives me a little more "freedom of expression" than I could get out of my Dart. I kind of like this.....

Hey aslong as you stay in the hobby....thats cool.....even cooler if you stay mopar!

and yes I seen that truck and it is very cool!

there was actually 3 of those trucks built.

1 was for the movie when it was in good condition, the other was for the movie in scenes where it was to get damage and the other was made as a personal truck for sly.

There was an episode of street customs ( west coast customs ) on TV where they built those 3 trucks for sly and the movie.....might want to check it out and get some ideas!.

alot of the stuff was pretty much novelty that I wouldn't incorporate into a build (like the man hidden gun compartments and what not).

but still cool.

I'll have to check that out! No hidden gun compartments for me lol. I just loved how that truck sat, sounded, etc. I don't see many old Dodge truck hot rods, my brother is building a 67' shortbed, but I like the older trucks more. I think I'm going to see if I can find that episode online...and maybe rewatch the movie just to see that chase scene lol. Oh, and I DEFINITELY have to stay mopar!
