No power to anything?

I removed my old dash to instal a Peak Dashes unit with Autometer Gauges.

I also switched to a 1 wire alternator.



Tonight I went to wire the new dash and find my hot wires for the lights and power. I couldn't find anything hot other than the big red wire which is hot all the time. I think that went to the amp meter but not sure. There is one big black and one big red behind where the old speedo went.

As I diagnosed further I have no ignition switch, no headlights, no radio, no GVOD, no line lock etc.

This must be something dumb that I'm overlooking. Please help.

Put the black wire red wire together and you will have power to everything.All of your power went through the amp gauge before.

Thanks guys. I knew it was something silly.


Seems pretty un-ideal to run the power that way. What if your ampmeter goes bad?
