Ugh.

When I pulled the car off the trailer, I smelled gas. So I popped off the hood and had a look around. The fuel line was leaking from where it comes out of the fuel pump. So I fixed that, made a run:

68 degrees, 45% RH, 29.91 pressure, 750 DA
.260 RT (I know), 1.879 60', 12.387 @ 110.33 MPH.

Not all that impressive. The motor was cold (160 degrees), when I hit the throttle it bogged and didn't move. That's why the .260 RT happened.

Next run:
71 degrees, 43% RH, 29.81 pressure, 1065 DA
.071 (that's better), 1.869 60', 12.434 @ 109.67 MPH. It slowed a bit on the top end.

Got back to my pit, I smelled gas again. I pulled off the hood, had a look around but didn't see anything. I thought maybe it was just some left-over from earlier, so I tried to forget about it.

First round of eliminations...
I put a 12.40 on the window before I got up to the staging lanes. Sitting there, I thought it was getting hotter, and watching the guys ahead of me run, I saw they were all running 3-5 hundreths slower than their dial. So I decided to dial up... 12.45:

75 degrees, 43% RH, 29.51 pressure, 1683 DA
.074 RT, 1.838 60', 12.402 @ 109.42.
Opponent: .009 RT, 10.369 on a 10.36 dial. He beat me by .0086. Argggh....

Then I got back to the pit and smelled more gas. Pulled off the hood again, found that my fuel pressure gauge (on the fuel log) was cracked, the needle was gone, gas was pissing out of it. Good thing I was done for the day. Packed it up and went home. I got 1 point for the day, maybe now I'm not tied for next-to-last anymore. ;-)

Could have been worse....
You are here to tell the story and the car is still complete, if it had caught fire think of the damage. :(

Yeah, I know...

I'd just like to go to the track one day and not have ANY problems. Back the car off the trailer, check the fluids, warm it up, make a few time runs, win a few rounds, pack up and go home with a few extra $$$ in my pocket.

Just once.

Well you found the leak and nothing broke or caught on fire. So it could a been worse. Glad you found that gas leak. Ron

Where'd you go raceway park??? I keep hearing mumblings about out east whats the deal???
Yep, Englishtown... I'm done with LIMP, I'm tired of the nonsense and getting ripped off (no payouts, no rainchecks, etc).

I've heard that yesterday (Sunday) was the last day for that place. Nothing official, but that's what I've heard through the grapevine.
