So my Barracuda isn't going to be ready for a while, so I want to race my Jeep Grand Cherokee for now. I have had it out to the track before, just for Friday night, run what you brung drags.

Its pretty consistent running in the low 14s, with a 3" lift and 31" tires. Engine is a stroked 360 to 403ci. Best run was 14.020 ses @ 97.16mph, the temperature at the track was in the low 90s. This winter I will be taking the lift off and putting stock tires back on. And doing some more stuff to the engine.

The track I want to race at now is Maple Grove in Mohnton, PA. What class would my ZJ fit into? I want to get it ready for racing this coming up season. So I want to find the rules and see if I need a roll cage.

If someone could point me in the right direction for rules I would appreciate it.

Hey Brother,
My guess is that your gearing will be altered enough to get you into high 13s with the shorter tires.
No clue what class it would be in, but I would think you'd just be looking at bracket racing (to get some "tree"time).
You don't need to worry about a roll bar until you hit mid 11s.
And hey, maybe I'll run into ya there sometime!

Good luck, and have fun!

I'd get rid of the big tires ASAP. I dont think hitting 100 mph with 31" tires on a Jeep is very safe.

I emailed Maple Grove to see if they could help me in anyway. I have never raced there before are. Are they a good group of people, willing to help out?
