    Good morning all
my first muffler to order it was Flowmaster Super 44. I felt like I was the bad guy in the cart.
afterwards I imported the Flowmaster 50 series Delta flow. Let's say my mother-in-law calls for noise and scents of burnt out as always, and my wife has to take pills to calm herself down every Sunday when I start the Dodge.
can you help me find another model in 2.5 '' diameter?
I'm looking for a sound very close to the original to be able to pass for a very responsible 54 year old man.

I had to go through the same deal. I finally found some nice quiet ,with a bit of a rumble. I believe they are Walker quite flow. I may still have the boxes out in the garage. If so I'll verify that, and send pics. Got at O'Reilly's had to order but had them the next day.

Basically the same as the Flowmaster, just a little longer, at 16inches on the Walkers

      These have 2 1/5", in & outs.
      Also make different offsets.
      About 35 bucks apiece.

Dynomax Turbos are another option. Borla as I understand are pretty quiet. Magnaflow and Dynomax Ultraflo are pretty quiet. I went from Flowmaster Delta flow 44 to Ultra flows on my truck and there was a notable difference in volume.

      thank you!
in your opinion, is it going to be quieter than the flowmaster 50 series delta flow?

Not familiar with the fifty series. But the 40s had that bad reverberation that drive me crazy at cruising.

I changed from Flowmaster 40's to Dynomax Super Turbo's. Very happy with them. Not too loud, but enough to hear the engine.

When ordering, you have to look at where you need to inlet and outlet holes, and the size of the inlet and outlet. Our cars don't have a lot of room so it's important to get them installed in the correct place!

      exactly,
I climb them before the rear axle, practically below the rear seat. the last time I order with: entry and exit in the middle. the next time I would order off set.

I have 2” borla xr-1 on my 65 Dart 273 there not to quiet. I think the Walker quiet would be good choice.

Any thoughts on quieting my setup? (Dual 3" with x-pipe). Summit turbo mufflers in front of the rear axle, then glasspacks under the trunk floor. STILL too loud for me.

Since there is no fuel tank in the way (cell in trunk), there is plenty of room. Could I put another pair of turbo mufflers under the trunk instead?

Those glasspacks are doing little to nothing to quiet the exhaust. I really like straight through mufflers on their ability to quiet the exhaust without effecting too much performance vs a chambered style muffler (Like the Dynomax Ultraflows or Magnaflow mufflers), but the glasspack style is more like a race bullet in that the case doesn't have enough packing to muffle any sound. I'm not sure if the Summit turbos are straight through or chambered, but I felt like my engine was louder with a chambered muffler vs a straight through.

Out at the tail, I wouldn't think as much packing/quieting would be required?
Here's a pic of the inside of the Summit turbo.

If the first muffler isn't quietening the exhaust enough, a glasspack won't add much either. Do you know the length of the muffler bodies? The longer the body, the quieter it will be.

        From Summit's website:
        Case Exterior Length (in.):13.000 in.
        Thickness (in):4.750 in.
        Width (in):10.000 in.
They're not huge but they fit nicely under an A-body.
Like I said, there is room under the trunk floor for considerably longer mufflers so that's where I would want to put them. Ideas?

Just for info, I installed the Summit kit on my 73 340 Sport. It comes with the Summit Turbo mufflers. Nice sound but way too loud at idle and at cruising speed. Planning on going with something that's a bit quieter but still lets the engine mods show.

What happened to using the capped dead-head pipes, too? Is that a thing or no?
