I need to know from the experts!
Is 67 Barracuda rear glass different from 68 -69 glass. A guy is telling me 67 is concave, while 68-69 is convex. Whats the scoop!
I have never noticed this. Thanks in advance. Al
 
Turn it around and it is concave. A little known fact, I talked with the designer of the 67 Dart and they went to get the rear glass done the manufacturer said they had never made a concave glass. The engineer told the guy to turn the glass around and you will see that you have. To answer your question, 67-69 notchback glass is the same...
 
IIRC, there were some different curves, but, they do interchange '67-9. Unless you had them side by side, you wouldn't notice the difference.
 
The 67 has a more pronounced curve at the top

I believe the 67/68 Notchback rear glass is the same. How they are installed is different. '67 uses a wide glass seal with a lockstrip. '68 uses a metal molding with clips installed in the channel. I have a '67, but rear window was installed the same as a '68. The molding is what I need!

Interesting bc im at that point now. Does every 68 notchback have drilled holes for the trim? Mine apparently doesn’t. Originally a vinyl top. I have the trim but it seems I may have to drill holes to hold the trim.

We rarely know the full history of a vehicle this old. It could have been back halved with a 67 donor. The hole pattern for that reveal moulding is here in the forum somewhere. I have it in a retired Toshiba laptop but it would take hours to post it. I would even need to get the wife involved due to where that Toshiba is stored.

Any thing is possible but I HIGHLY doubt any of the previous owners would have replaced a big part of the car, they Mickey moused the SMALLEST most insignificant things that I don’t see them doing a big project like that. Curious to know if ALL 68’s came with the drilled holes. Either way we’re gonna get to drillin to install. So the car will be whole again.

What is the build date? Maybe early '68's still used the '67 type setup.
 
Fender tag, build sheet......even the VIN will indicate early or late. On a '68 fender tag, the date code would be a 3 digit one on the bottom line.
Ok I’ll check later today. I’ll post a picture of the fender tag
 
Yup, that's a real early '68....Sept 15 1967. the 4 under the lower case b is bucket seats, and Y6 is black vinyl top. It also coded for an AM radio, A/C, turn signal indicators, and tinted glass. If you need the other lower line codes, let me know.
