numbers matching???

I am looking at a 68 Coronet R/T. The fender tag and everything decodes as it was described, but I cannot find the vin stamping on the block. The pad for it is just not there. I thought all 68 and up models had this stamp pad on the passenger side of the block? also the build date on the car is november 67 and the block casting date was 10-17-67 I believe. Could this be a warranty block?

Some time mid year 68 is when it started. If yours has the vin stamped it will be on the back topside of the block where the transmission and block mate together. I dont have a pic handy
