OBD1 to OBD2 plus upgrade?

So I successfully put a obd1 5.9 magnum into my 69 Dart 4spd and have been driving it all spring and summer and love it, but now I want more. I originally went OBD1 because that was the donor I had,wasn't confident I could even make it run and read it was easier. I bought a complete 98 ram 1500 with a 5.9 as a donor. I know the pcm and plug ins are different, but l think all the wiring and sensors are the same other than a 2nd o2 sensor. Is it just a matter of depinning my wiring and putting on the 3 plugs for the pcm? Also while I am changing the computer I want to change the cam using the Hughes upgrade cam kit and I am going to do the kegger mod. Are these mods going to require a reflash of the pcm? This will be my first time doing any upgrades with a computer controlled system so just looking for some guidance. Thanks

The Kegger Mod works great for low to mid-range RPM. With a bigger cam than stock, you can get away with the stock tune to a point, but you are leaving a significant amount of performance on the table.

I used a Hughes cam with the slightly stiffer springs, Kegger Mod and headers. The motor loved the mod's, especially when reflashed.

Subscribed. I grew up in the dealership through the OBD1 through the OBD2 days to port injection. I don't think it should be attempted. Not that it couldn't be done just I think you're setting yourself up for failure.
 
I was going to do the same thing on son’s engine swapped fiero. He sold the car before I did it. I did a lot of research on it. It didn’t look too bad since all of the sensors but one were the same, but that was a GM system. If you have some electrical skills & have a basic understanding of how the engine electrical system works, you can probably do it. I would swap the whole harness. Might be a lot of work for what you get, but if you have time on your hands and like to tinker, go for it.
 
If it makes more sense to use the harness from the 98 truck and thin it down the same way I did the 95 harness, I will do that. Just didn't know if that was my best route. To reflash the pcm do you send it out or get a hand held tuner and purchase a tune for your specs ? Never done it.
 
Just to let you know, pretty much all the plugs changed on the sensors from OBD1 to OBD2, so if that '98 you bought has a complete motor, then you'll have everything you need.
