I have a vintage look group 24 battery that I bought years ago and it has gone bad. I looked for a new one and they doubled in price, over $250. I hollowed out my old case and was going to put a smaller battery in it.
I found a Odssey dry cell battery that will fit nicely. It's a PC 680. It has;
680 amps for 5 sec.
370 hot cranking amps
220 cold cranking amps.
Is this battery big enough for my 340? Right now I'm using my trailor battery which has 475 cranking amps and seems to be alright.

I was looking to do the same but with a pc 925, this is a new(40yo) batt, i hate to cut it open but don't think if i add acid it would last a long time.

I did look at the PC925 and it will be tight around the cables.
I tried to save mine with new acid, and a deep charge. Didn't work.
