Are you talking about the duel 2 manifold? I don't think that Offy ever had a duel 1 barrel.

Nope it is a dual 1bbl

Haven't run one yet but I've done some homework. With stock 1920 Holleys you really have to do some fiddling with the jets and idle mixture to get them to run right. Each carb is only flowing half as much air now, and from what I've been told, its a royal PITA to get set up right. Once that happens though, it is well worth the effort. The twin Offy has good flow and is not all that finicky since it has a balance chamber between the plenums. Water heat will give you all the carb heat you need since it is not that critical. The downside is a slight bog, the stock one barrel air cleaners won't work, and you have to come up with some sort of choke linkage. I'm using twin Carter/Webers off an Escort to get around all that since I'm too lazy to spend all that time fiddling with carbs. They are sized about right to be plug and play, and have electric chokes. If you want to see what they look like, go to photobucket and image search slantedview.

Wouldnt waste my time.Single 4bbl will eat it alive.I believe a single Carter bbd would as well, plus the single carb is much easier to hook up.

If it is performance your after you cant beat a Holley 390 or a Edelbrock 500.
The Offy intake has more low end the Clifford intake has more top end. :headbang:

I drive my slant year round in Calgary Canada, I have heard that the 4 bbl intakes dont do well in the cold, any input?

I don't even have a choke on my 465 holley and had no trouble starting it this week. We haven't had temp above 25*f in over a week. The lack of fast idle makes it so I have to sit there and hold it at 2000rpm for 2 minutes until it is warm enough to drive. The only carb heat I use is the heated air the aircleaner pulls from around the headers.
I missed out on a twin one barrel offie intake and linkage by about 3 hours at my local speed shop. He had the thing on the wall for years and then finally had two people ask about slant hop up part on the same day.
Those headers on the ebay link look like truck headers.

Rob,
There are a couple ways to go to get heat to the carb. The best is to use a Clifford 4bbl intake with water injection with the use of the heater hoses.I do not have mine hooked up,but I live in Cal where the weather is mild.I do not run a choke either. If you are in a big time hurry, then yes they can be fickle.I usually let my car idle for a few minutes and warm up before I drive it.The engine heat will then take over to warm the intake.
