Driving down a busy 6 lane road about 45mph and all of the sudden the steering wheel gets a shimmy. It rapidly gets worse and worse. I'm starting to get real nervous :pale: as I try to slow down, move over to the right lane and pull into a parking lot.

I get the car stopped and get out  , walk around to the right front wheel and sure enough, two of my lug nuts are missing and the other three are very loose. Luckily I had a lug wrench in the trunk, and I traced back 100 feet and found one of the nuts I lost. So with four tight nuts I limped on home.

Lessoned learned... check your nuts frequently, tighten when necessary, scratch if it feels good. :p

I check my nuts every day to make sure they're where they should be.

So far they always have been. :thumrigh:

That happened in my 70 Duster the second day I got it, got a call into work at 3 a.m. left workabout 10a.m. on the way home same deal did'nt lose any lugs though just all 5 were loose on passenger side, also the
u-joints went south too, toasting the original drive shaft, all in 1 trip too work . Lesson learned when buying old cars that did more sitting than driving, make sure to tighten up and lube up all required. I was so excited on driving mine I did'nt pay any attention plus the car only has
61,000 miles on it .
