I'm just curious, why would you want to run an engine oil cooler, is this puppy souped up.

Reguardless of the engines power state, a oil coller extends the life of oil by keeping it cool as well as helps the engine live longer.

The adapter for the cooler IIRC, should bolt right onto the right angle housing. Clearance issues, with headers should not be a problem since you can run the cooler lines where you need them.

You should also be able to get a padded strap to run the lines though and route them away from the hot tubes. These padded tube holders have a tab to run a screw through so you can mount them on a frame rail to help with the routing.

I have run remote filter/cooling both with the 90 degree adapter and w/o - no clearence either was. I prefer not to run it as the filter & cooler are in th front and the 90 degree adapter points back adding another bend... but I am sure that is minor.

Having said that my current set-up has a temperature gauge prior to the cooler as well as a thermostat to the cooler... net-net it rarely opens and the oil stays running cold. Admittedly I do not beat on it much nor run for a long time on the highway but I agree with rumblefish360, it only can help.

Geez Rumble, I know the advantages to running an engine oil cooler but just haven't considered it on a street application. Tranny oil cooler for sure no matter what the use.

LOL @ Terry. That reply wasn't for you....silly Demon...he he he he... that was for Keith. (OE poster)

Check it out.. I got a P code 400 from a Doba, '78. I gotta snap a sot of this thing. P/S cooler is stock and the tranny cooler is a monster. Though, no oil cooler yet.

Yea I kind of figured, I like pulling your chain.

Nice pics and set up. I have a SB and its a solid block so i figured would run a cooler do you have pics of your 90 degree filter and cooler plate attacked to block would like to see that setup Thanks again Cheers oh yea and i beat on it taking down chevys and fords when ever i can someone has to fly the flag on the street

Thanks for the pics, looks tight down there what temp is your oil when your running? seems like its going to be a pain in the *** to do might just moniter the temp and see where im at the block is filled but havnt had problems yet just change my oil more then usual. it keeps me in practice though lol

I need more time to get a better read on the temperature..... the oil temp gauge barely moves but I do not beat on it much and have not taken a long trip .... plus there is over 10 quarts in the system (so it would take a while to get hot).

Holy crap Kory....and I thought MY oiling system was nuts.:poke:

I'm using an Amsoil remote bypass oil kit with a B&M fluid cooler. Currently I'm at about 8 qts of fluid with a stock pan.

Superdart,

If the B&M cooler you are using is what I looked at they are really great - compact with a built in fan.

Do you know what kind of oil temperature you are running?

eh- nuts is good!
