well i just put my new motor in this year. The car runs awesome but i have an oil leak. Its leaking from the oil fliter adaptor plate. I have changed the gasket like 4 times and put a new plate on it. It was still leaking. On fri i took the car out and the gasket must blown out or something because its leaking oil from there like crazy and i have to tow it home! Anyone have any ides of how to stop this leak? What if i use the 90* adaptor? It will eleminate that plate? Does anyone make something with an o-ring and not a gasket?

Thanks

If you use the 90 degree adapter it will eliminate the plate but you'll still have gaskets to contend with. I've never had any problems with any leaking myself except one that came loose. Are you sure your using the correct gaskets? Have you held them up against the block and plate and compared sealing surfaces to see if they look like they fit correctly? Never seen any that use a O-ring but there might be some out there.

One last thought. Is your oil pressure excessively high by any chance?

BTW: Excellent looking ride!!

Make sure you have all of the old gasket off the block between the plate and block. Then make sure that the spindle/center tube is tight <--don't exactly know the name but it's what the filter spins on. I had a problem with my 90 degree setup leaking like a sieve. I wound up lightly coating the gasket to make sure it didn't move when the plate was mounted.

Thanks! It is the right gasket. The oil pressure is at about 70-75 at its highest when its cold. when its warm it at about 50 cruzin and 30-35 at idol.
