Yep, don't want to do that, if its a newer car, all sorts of issues can come about with different emissions controls and such.
 
Vacuum systems can get plugged up on newer cars.

To much oil will get whipped by the crank which is resistance and cause a HP loss. The resulting foamed oil is something the engine doesn't like and if the level became low due to a high RPM run, the engine will be unhappy sucking up foam and show a pressure loss.
