Oil pan hitting the k frame

So I have a slant six and 63 valiant and I can't get the passenger side mount to seat, so when i looked from under the car, the pan hitting the k frame.

Were there different k frames for 170 vs. 225??

The car originally had a 170 which was long gone before I bought the car and this is a 225 I'm trying to fit in there.

The early A slant 6s used a slightly different oil pan- you'll have to try to score one to fit to your later 225.

No, but there are a lot of different oil pans. What number does it have stamped on it?

Well that's just great, seems early As had a different pan with the sump a full inch back compared to the later ones.


The engine is out of my 72 demon so it's the wrong pan.

You can use a F-Body pan if you trim the front driver side corner about 1/2" back. Otherwise that corner touches the K-member.
