I am to the point where I'm ready to clean and paint my oil pan on my '72 340. I have two; both stock. I see Summit has a bunch of pans available, both Mopar and aftermarket. Is there any advantage besides extra cooling capacity in going aftermarket or Mopar performance that I'm not aware of? This is mostly a street/strip car. If there is no extra advantage I'll clean up one of the old ones. (This motor came stock with a windage tray)

Unless you're planning on racing it alot I wouldn't go to an extra capacity pan, just that much more that hangs down below. I would say to make sure that the pan you're using has front and rear sump baffles and a windage tray is always a good idea.
