oil pressure loss

got a stock 440 in valiant when i cruise it 50 psi at idle 30 psi. when i romp it pressure goes away for a second then comes back i have the 187 with a windage tray is the windage in the way of oil going back in pan

Sounds like the pickup tube is being uncovered under hard acceleration. I have the same problem on my Cuda now that I added drag radials and it hooks hard. I also have a stock pan but I found if I overfill it by 1 qt. of oil it's fine. It's the lack of an acceleration baffle in a stock pan that is the problem. Lets all the oil go to the back of the pan under acceleration.

Next time you have the pan off, weld in a baffle.

Fishy's dead on, had the same problem then installed baffles the 187 usually doesn't have them.
