I figured I would start a thread to show the tunnel ram that I am making for my 396 small block. The manifold started out as a wei-and tunnel ram for small blocks the plenum and chambers were quickly removed leaving the runners at a 25°angle. The plenum is made of 1/8 aluminum plate with the top flange&plate being 1/4 in and will be using 2 vintage eelco carb spacers as mounting flanges for the two 650 double pumpers. I still have a little machine work to do before I start welding this weekend. it still has a long way to go but it should be pretty cool so let me know what you guys think.

We are not going to run a scoop for the fact it's for drag racing and will be open. The hood of the car has a modified 6pack scoop and this will clear that

Looks fantastic. Yes, please keep us posted. I especially like the fact it will be able to fit under the six pack scoop.

I love your car. Just saw the writeup in Mopar Muscle.

Thanks glad you liked it but sadly 3 weeks after the photoshoot we windowed the motor but after running a best time of 10.78@ 127mph. So we are building a new 396 small block it is a vergin 70 ta block that we filled and convert to four bolt mains 0 decked corrected all the geometry and bushed, it's a mopar 3.79 stroke crank, aluminum rods,15.1 pistons custom solid roller a set of procomp heads with huges big mouth treatment on the ports and 1.6-1 rockers and titanium valve train and a bunch of other things that are in hopes of getting everything out of this motor

Interesting fuel log in the photo.

What did the tunnel ram start out as?

So, how are you going to determine if your modifications work? Do you have another TR with the stock plenums?

That seems like an awful lot of work.

No I'm comparing it to a single plane highly modified super Victor jr with a 1250 dominator. I'm going off of a really comon design in the chevy world

Finished welding and fabrication had to notch the back to clear the tach drive. I also canted the carbs for better fuel distribution. Getting ready to start porting and blending this week.
