Should hopefully finish porting the second one and do some 5 angle valve jobs and flow testing this weekend.

Looks great. I have to ask and I think you have mentioned the number before but, what percent of gain is after the valve job and bowl blending?
If my memory is correct, just the valve job and bowl blend was 80% of the gains on a 2.02 valve stock type heads.

Man that number is buried back in our Speedmaster posts somewhere. I know the porting work pays dividends from .300-.550 even with a 2.02 as the port becomes smoother.

He wanted to keep as much compression as possible so I didn’t go crazy on the spark plug holes.

John, what do you use to seal the pushrod tubes? Or do you use anything?

A very thin coat of JB Weld.
I bet that works good. We used to use a thin coat of K&W Block Seal for guides and other press in things as we felt the need. I'm not sure they even make it anymore. It was in a bottle similar to the size and shape anti seize is in and it had a ball shaped brush on the lid. It was good stuff!

I remember it well.

If anyone is ever looking for a very good epoxy similar to JB weld but perhaps stronger. Check out marine Tex grey. Very good stuff.
