So i have a question guys, i just wanted to make sure i did this right. I took this picture from google images. I have the 2 piece rear maim seal like the black one seen in picture below. The spots with red is where i put rtv. Is this the proper placement of rtv/sealant. If it didnt have the ears i would offset it but cant. So my concern is if the placement of the rtv is good? Id rather make sure its good before i button up the bottom end fully. Again this image was taken from google so i can use it as example i am using a 2 piece rear main seal with ears felpro

Correct, use caution when threading the upper half not to bend the seal.

If too much is applied does it causes more leaks, or possible bigger bearing clearance?

Thats it if you put any under the seal just the lightest smear otherwise it gets trapped in the seal lip.
Also the red one is a double lip the new a single was the double lip leaking just about to try one

Okay well i put a layer of it in that area i didnt glob or anything just a layer, so i hoping its okay and i was looking at the doubke lip one from mancini but had the felpro on hand so hopefully i wont get any trouble. Also when torqued down i barely saw any squeeze out. Im just being cautious as dont want to buttom up bottom end and end up having to tear it back apart

I'm about to install my rear main seal on a 440 build. I have a single lip seal, which way should the lip of the seal be oriented? Thx, 65'
