I've always wanted to make a post like this! Though, feel a bit bad because there are so many already..

Basically, I'm curious what you guys think about this combo. Curious about HP Numbers, possible 1/4 Mile times. You know, the basics. I don't need hard numbers, or "Official" anything. Just guesses and a bit more of an Educated Opinion from the knowledgeable ones.

Here's the Engine:

1967 340 Block .30 over.
Stock X-Heads (Possible Porting next weekend)
Stock forged Crank.
Eagle Rods
TRW-L2316 F30 pistons
Lunati VooDoo 6403 Cam (Adv. Duration 268 int./276 exh. 0.494 int./0.513 exh. lift)
Performer RPM Air-Gap Intake
Holley 650 DP Carb
MSD 6A ignition
MSD Coil
MSD Distributor
TTI headers, Ceramic coated inside/out
X-Pipe, 3" Exhaust (Want to Pro-charge it down the road with more money)

Chassi:
1968 Barracuda Formula-S
Stock Weight
Full Interior
4-Speed 833OD
8-3/4" Sure Grip Rear end
3.55 Gears
26" Tall tire (for now) I want slicks for any real drag attempts
Subframe connectors

If you want to suggest any changes, now's the time! Anything to make it a bit more harmonious, or just for future changes.

Having said that all, Given the combos, what kind of changes do you think I would need to hit Mid-high 12's in street trim? (Barring traction issues)

Let me know guys! Thanks! 8)

Thats a good sounding set up you have. The only thing I would change to try for 12's is that 3.55 gears. Those gears are great for the street thou but for the best ET. 4.10, maybe 4.56 gears would be best.

With gasoline so $$$ I would just stick with the 3.55 and not worry about going in the 12"s.

I have the EXACT same build except w/750 vacuum carb and auto w/3500 stall and 3.91 rear - I'd be curious to know what to expect in my Dart.

Remember that 833od has a 3.09:1 low 1st gear. Its still going to pull of the line good.

had a 340 in a 74 full weight duster, bored 30, 507-510 comp cam, srp pistons, around 10.5 to 1, air gap intake, 3.55 gears, 3800 convertor, carb shop carb, ported j heads, and 26-10.5 mt's, ran between 12.40's and 12.60's consistantly but can't remember exactly its been a few years.completely streetablem, good luck!:toothy10:

Cool, thanks for the replies guys!

I'm still curious, what do you guys think I could hit HP and Quarter mile wise with this combo?

I would say it will probably run mid 13s but I wouldnt be surprise to see some high 12s with a lot of tuning.

I think driving will be the key to ETs with that. The only change I'd make is either a 670cfm Street Avenger, or a 3310 Holley. I would be VERY impressed if you can drive well enough to get 12s from that. I think with auto and sticking, 12s would be reachable. So it's possible. (FYI, last stiock car I raced well was 12 years ago.. I'm not busting..just honest...lol)

Well, it doesn't sound too bad! Thanks for the advice moper.

Guess there may be some mild head porting in the near future. :evil2:
