Does anyone have advice on tuning specs for a 66 225 engine- I'm going to set valve lash to .010 na d .020 cold is this ok?- as for timing I'm going to advance it until I hear it pinging and then back it off a little. The last time I worked on a slant 6 was my first car a 66 dart back in 74'- I'd be glad to hear about any other specs or tricks you folks may know about. thanks Dave

do not adjust your valves cold they will be way off when the engine is hot.
start the car get the engine hot. remove the rocker cover and restart the car. Oil only dribbles out of the rockers when it is just idling, it is not as messy as you would think. I adjusted mine hot not running several times but since I did it hot running I will only do it like that from now on.
you should be able to set your inital to around 12-14* it will run much better than the 0* the book calls for.
