I've asked for and received help MANY, MANY times on this site.. Invaluable to me a lot of times... Thanks to ALL that have helped and tried to help.
So, hopefully this can be MY little contribution to help someone in the future...Maybe it's been stated before, but I'm still gonna put it out there because it just worked for me and was SUPER easy.
I was needing to remove my OCS based on advice from many here. On the bench is apparently not to bad...but with pedal assembly installed it can be a little tougher. I've read and watched videos suggesting placing washers, etc...in between the spring coils...then depressing pedal to relax tension.I was trying this and it was turning out to be a time consuming P.I.T.A. ...maybe it was just me, but I stepped away for a second, thought about it, then walked to my tool chest, grabbed a pry bar and it took less than a minute.
Where the spring attaches to the spring "hook" (not the firewall end), I pryed the bottom hook out, then the top...as easy as that..!

I've always used a large pair of brake spring pliers.
