Over heating 440 in my just purchased 69 dart. has B Cool rad. .600 isky roller
w/ .300/.300 lift, chrome headers etc. Car runs cool at idle indefintely but I was told that after 30 min. of hwy. driving it will get to 220 and wants to vaporize the fuel when you return to normal stop and go traffic. Any thoughts, opinions or facts would be appreciated.
Thanks

You may not be getting enough fuel through the carb when going from cruising speed to closing the throttle blades, so a simple jetting of the carb is in order. Or a better machanical fuel pump or a electric one if the mechanical one doesn't have enough pressure.

Thanks BJR. I intend to try the rejetting and the fuel pump as well as a new fan as the present one has only five plastic blades.

a fan shroud that seals the entire radiator surface is needed. Also make sure that the seal that attaches to the hood that seals to the radiator core support is present.

You might want to check your radiator hoses. If the lower suction hose doesn't have a spring inside, it can collapse and cause overheating at highway speeds.
