My newly installed P-Brake cables from "The Right Stuff" (really great stuff and like OEM) don't line up at the equalizer. The R/R cable is 2 in longer than L/R cable. What gives? Also L/R spring in cable is too long and rubs against star wheel. Spring length is over 5 in (actually 5 3/8"). What gives??

Some background information. No intermediate cable in use on my 1968 Dodge Dart /270 SL-6. Three cable system only and all cables connect on drivers side right after vertical frame bracket securing L/R and R/R cables w/ clips. Removed Dorman cable(s) because of equalizer "kluge" that had a 1-2 thread holding to the main cable front assy. Really just a marginal connection and equalizer slanted badly so cables actually fall out....dah!!!!

New R/R cable from The Right Stuff is connected "high" in body frame w/ clip and rubber cover...just like OEM. Spring length satisfactory on R/R as no rubbing on star wheel adjuster. Again L/R cable has long spring length and rubbing on star above. ...not good!!!!!. Secures nicely at vertical bracket w/ R/R cable and clip.

Will call "Ed" (Senior Tech) at The Right Stuff on Monday to ask what is going. Am I missing something w/ P-brake cables install ?? Two problems I have: (1) R/R length too long at equalizer and (2) spring interference on L/R cable. I don't have original P-Brake cables so can't compare lengths. Cutting the spring is difficult w/ a grinder and is probably not a good idea on L/R cable to gain extra length needed at equalizer

Recommendations?? Suggestions??? Comments?? This can't be hard to solve?? Maybe spacers at equalizer and live w/ star adjuster interference?????.

Sorry for long ramble. You guys are the best. Happy MOPAR Fall. Appreciate the help.

I made my own using the ends off of stock cables , using a big hydraulic press . The only trouble is getting the cable out of the ends where u cut them off .
