Just saw a TV infomercial selling a ball point pen looking device that you press on the area of the body where it hurts, relieving pain. Wonder how much it costs and if it is really effective or just another snake oil sale?

The Chinese have known for thousands of years (acupressure) that putting pressure, on almost any place where you're experiencing pain, will relieve the pain. I use the round blunt end of a "sharpie":

The location and size (area) of the pain determines how large the "ball end" of the instrument should be. I found that one of those round chrome lug nuts on the end of a steel rod works real good on many pain areas!!

Is that like those things back in the 90s that made a small electric shock? I had a few friends that swore by them because the shock helped "open a pathway in the nerves".

I think Evil Keneival (can't remember how to spell that name) was doing infomercials back in the late 90's for something similar to that, except I think it had a shock to it.

Tens Unit....works, for some...

My chiropractor used the “activator” method. Worthless.
My physiotherapist uses tens, acupuncture, heat and downright abuse and i will say it worked wonders on my sciatica...

I've had acupuncture on a really bad heel spur and really, really bad sciatic nerve problems.....problem solved!!

My chiro uses a activator tool. Kind of like a spring loaded center punch. It works on places she can't adjust.

That's the one I was thinking of, they were made from something like a gas grill igniter. False Pain-Relief Claims Halted
The “Click & Care” is the same device in new clothes.

“Click & Care uses Piezoelectric Therapy, which releases pulses and endorphins throughout your body to make the pain go away. Simply place it on the aching area, and click away!”

Total snake oil.

The mind is a very powerful tool!

my grand dad used acupuncture to stop smoking
swore by it to, claimed it was the best 25 bucks he ever spend

Then there's my method. Say for instance your arm hurts. I punch you in the face and you suddenly forget about your arm.

I've been suffering from painful neuropathy for many years now, and acupressure can sometimes alleviate my pain. For those who don't know what it's used for, well, it is applied to certain points on the body so it can close off or block nerve impulses that transmit pain to the brain. It doesn't always work on its own though, so I used some natural neuropathy relief supplements in addition to the acupressure. They help regulate blood flow and increase circulation which is great for pain relief. If none of these natural methods work for you, definitely consult your doctor.
