got my cars electircals all in today.

have a couple minor glitches. Used a painless 60s mopar wiring harness.

put in new starter relay as well as voltage regulator.

Alternator seems to be putting out lots of extra juice.

Did not hook the ammeter up, and have not got a voltmeter installed yet, but you know how when you idle the car in park the dash lights will flicker? well it don't do that no more, and for some reason the alternator belt squeels like a mother ******, and nothing was changed with the positioning of the alternator.

and...

the biggy.

the guages are always on.

know how when you turn the key off the gas gauge is suppose to go to empty and the temp guage to cold?

mine doesn't.. well the temp guage does, as the engine cools.

so how bad is it to have your guages on all the time?

Sounds like a wire going to the wrong pole on the eng switch.
The alt belt should quit after the battery is charged good.
some one with more experience will chime in soon
Glad to here you got it installed :toothy7:

Check to see how you hooked up the ign. switch. Memike was right. There are alot of people that hook the ign. wire or Acc. wire on the wrong terminal at the switch. Hey it happens. I would also look at how the alt is wired up. What car is this on. If you need to talk to me about it call me at Painless. (817)244-6212 ext. 1016. I can help you get it taken care of.
