I don't know if this will be a good idea or not, but I have had poor experience with chrome, it usually pits and rusts a lot quicker than good paint.

So I have seen the chrome timing covers for around $32 on eBay, from Trans-Dapt Performance Products. I'm considering buying one and painting it. Anybody have any thoughts on this idea? I know the chrome would need to be etched somehow for paint to stick...

If you paint it, scuff it real good or blast the chrome off it. the paint won't stick worth a crap to the chrome

for bblk or smblk? If for a bblk pm me,painting chrome is not good results without stripping it 1st
