Will 11 rear drums on a 71 Duster cause problems with the parking brake cable? When I adjust the equalizer, the left rear cable applies about 3/4 of an inch before the right rear. Thanks for any help.

Mine isn't dead even either but it works fine. I guess what you have to determine is whether the equalizer is simply taking up slack on one of the cables or is actually applying the brakes. Disconnect the equalizer and pull the slack out of each cable to see where the ends are. I'll bet they're not even.

They are not even. I tried adjusting the brake cable to factory specs, but it does not hold the rear wheels still. I also tried tightening it more and more, but with no luck. Is it possible that since the left rear drum is applying first, the right side is still propelling the vehicle first?

I took this roll pin, opened it up, to slide on the longer cable, and tack it; to even up the cables.

Just ahead of the equalizer? And did you tack it to the cable or the equalizer? Thanks great idea.

Haven't installed it yet, but trial fit seems good. Was just going to tack it together, after squeezing it shut. Probably don't need to.
Yeah, between the ball and equalizer, to space the longer cable through it. The spacer will fool the cable into thinking it is shorter. No, towards front of car and equalizer.

Yeah, Napa for the long one, one original 10". Swapped to 11". Just need 3/4" to make it work.
