So the original plastic handle on my parking brake in my 67 Dart is broken and I was thinking about what to do for a replacement. I would really like to get a metal replacement so that I don't have to worry about it breaking again, but does anyone make them aftermarket? My dad and I thought about using a shifter T handle and just modifying it to fit, but I thought I saw a picture of an aluminum one on someone else's car and didn't know if someone out there already made them. Any companies or suggestions out there?

My 51 Plymouth had a similar emergency brake stup with a steel chrome handle. I will dig around the garage and see if I still have it and comapre it to the dart.

Cool, thanks! I'm sure it wouldn't really be that hard to make something fit, but I figure it might be nice to find something that just slides on normally. I know XV makes a bunch of interior dress up stuff. A set of their pedal covers and door lock knobs came with my car when I bought it, but I didn't really dig around their site to see what else they had. I guess I should look.

you can take the adapter for a shift handle and drill and tap it for an allen set screw. Slip that on your e brake rod and tighten up a countersunk set screw then screw the handle on the adapter.

I bet you could make one from a solid piece of hickory that'd never break.

That's more or less what i had in mind. I honestly thought about just trying to find a piece of pipe that fits over the parking brake rod and threading it into a handle with a screw or a roll pin like original.

@ 48limo

Are they metal or the original plastic ones?

Heres a pic of the one off of my 51 Plymouth. The shaft it goes on is 1/2 inch, will measure my Dart tomorrow
