Hi, I need a couple numbers of places I can call to order Parts for my 67 barracuda. For example, front-end parts, parts specific to that car. Right now I am converting from small bolt pattern to large...Who can I call for new bushings and ball joints that would know what I am talking about??

Thanks Jim

Your local Advance auto or Auto Zone should have the ball joints upper and lower. I got my bushings from Summitt Racing. I think they have a warehouse in Reno, NV so parts should get to you rather quickly. I really like their website too because you can search for things that only fit your vehicle.

When I seek froont end parts for that brake project I usually just fudge the input the counter clerk uses
I.E.. "I need yada yada for a 1973 Valiant."

So as far as the conversion...If I order front-end parts for a 73 duster....the ball joints, bushings and whatnot are the same??

I think Mike or any of the guys at PSC (Peformance Suspension Components) could be of help. I prefer dealing with them when buying suspension rebuild parts because they only sell the best US made parts (ie. Moog, TRW, etc.). The other suspension places (like PST: Performance Supension Technologies) sell a mix of US and Asian parts (whatever they grab out of the bin). PSC is out of Scottsdale, AZ.

BTW: Love the AMX!

Yes, you can use '73 - up parts but you will need '73 - up upper control arms because they use a different ball joint than the '72 down.

I do have the newer '73 spindle and upper control arm. I bought a 74 duster and robbed the front suspension...I'm using the disc brakes, upper control arm and spindle.

Yeah about the only things in suspension and steering that changed over the years are
stabilizer bar bushings,
pitman and idler arms,
and upper ball joints.

Thanks for all the input.....I ordered all new parts and they should be here soon..

Nice X Jim....I had a 70...390 4sp., Golden Lime Green with blacked out hood, functional scoop. Bought it in 72 for $900, sold it in 75 for $4700. to a car lot. Heard later the kid they sold it to totaled it. Wish I would have put it away at the time, but my mother probably would have sold it along with my 65 Impala SS and my 51 Chevy P/u while I was in the Air Force. Oh well...nice car!

As for local parts houses in Boise, I usually take my business to General Auto Parts at 28th & Idaho. They are an independently owned NAPA store, and the old guys behind the counter actually know something. I take most of my machine work there as well. I drive right past a Schucks and a corporate owned NAPA to get there.

If you kept the 67 K-Member, you will need a 67 idler arm, they were a one-year-only deal. Everything else can be for a 73.

Thats one amx I would like to have....and I'll have to try that non-coporate napa store...Its sorta close to work and thanks for the tip on the idler arm. I did get a 67. Now I just need to finish cleaning my front-end parts and drop them off to the powder coater.
