Passenger door opens from inside handle not outside

why does my handle in inside open door but outside knob doesnt? Whats the broken mechanism?

Just had the clip that holds the linkage from the thumb button to the lock break on my Charger. Should be an easy fix with the door panel off and the glass up

Yea, JB most likely a plastic clip on the inside. Take the door panel off, and you will see the linkage and where it came apart. You can get the little clips on eBay

I could be a linkage adjustment also, depending on your year and model, assuming nothing it broken or sloppy loose. There's an access hole in the end of the door shell where an Allen head adjustment screw is located on most models. Another common area for play is the bell crank on the handle itself. If the mounting screw comes loose, it can cause that problem too.

The rod from the handle button to the latch mechanism on my 68 Dart is not adjustable. Button would get stuck in the handle because you had to push so far to open it. I removed it and took some of the bend out of it making it longer until I nailed it. If your clip came off it might be lying in your door. Your clips are plastic.
