Man I hate it when I come back to the pit and there is some clown parked in the spot next to my truck & trailer where I was putting the hotrod. :angryfir: I have been putting a sawhorse there but that is kinda a hassle moving it in place and back. I think I have found a perfect sign to put on the sawhorse that I can put forward enough to still be able to get in and out with the sign in front. Then again, I would probably come back and the whole thing would be gone.

Cool sign. At the track I go to, you are supposed to park behind your trailer so you don't take up 2 spots.

This has been happening to me all summer. With 1/2 the parking area with nothing in it,I,ll come back from a pass to somebody parked 8ft from the side of my trailer.I,m a fairly trusting guy,but when there,s about 10 young guys roaming around my trailer,I have to close it up just to make a pass.I usually just leave it wide open. It,s all about trusting your fellow racers to not touch your stuff.Sadly this happens all to often.Good idea with the saw-horse.:coffee2:

What I usually run into is an arragant asshole will pit in another person's stall next to me and I'm supposed to give him half my stall to. Usually on the other side of him that stall is empty. This happens at my home track where we pay a yearly rental fee. He's one of this people that thinks he has to have his car pulled around with his fancy golf cart. You think he a chevy guy but he drives a dodge. After a few words he figured out he wasn't going to run over me.

My favorite pit parking issue was when my friend put cones at each end where he parked the car. Went to staging, came back and a car is parked in the spot. Easily solved.

He grabbed keys to a friends diesel PU and pushed it out of the way. The look on the persons face when they came back was great.

Pit parking at some places, especially on stuff like street legal day is ridiculous.

Supposedly, there is no reserving a pit spot and there are signs that say it. But sure as heck if you try to pit in a decent spot, there is someone waving you off. Should be first come, first served. They send somebody down early to save a good spot, and then they take their sweet time getting there with the truck & trailer.

At our track there's enough room to park behind your trailer. I think that's what your supposed to do.

Then again, you probably come back and someone else's Barracuda will be parked there, then one couldn't really say much.

So far I have the only fish there.

Shoulda been there yesterday Mark - the cool air had the car running good. Pulled a 8.39 at 84.5 the last pass. Problem is the track timing system went out and they were only running a single lane when I left. Ole Casey was pissed cause he came with street tires for the shootout.

Yesterday was the last day I'll be there with the 340. Try as I might just couldn't blow the thing up or break anything. We'll see how long it takes to get the stroker in and I can't wait till the first burnout with it.

always something to say about the pits. like the guy next to you puts his loud generator with an extension cord on the side of the trailer that he's not so he won't hear it. hurray for him and F%#k the other guy!

Buy a 10 x 10 tarp and pin it to the ground. No one will park on top of your tarp. If they do you definately have a right to ask them to move. Its handy when you have to crawl under the car also and when running the valves or jetting the car anything dropped isnt lost in the grass.

We park with the car beside the trailer in Woodburn,OR.

No problem, yet.

our pits are marked out. Wide enough for a trailer and your racecar beside it. Deep enough for your rig and trailer. And we pay for preassigned stalls. We even put up reserved signs for us who pay for yearly pit rentals. MHDRA

Whats worse is when you pay for a reserve spot and you get there late and someone has taken it. Then you go to a track official and they tell you to find another spot because there is to many cars driving to move them. And then you get stuck out near the woods in a mud puddle.

Then just when you think it can't get worse. The same guy is in that spot the following week. I flipped out. The third week I was moved down one spot to let this guy park next to his buddy in my paid spot for three years so they can share a generator. These guys thought this was funny.

Thats when the spat went to the track. My son took the intruder out 2 weeks straight. and destroyed their car. On the third week they couldn't get their car fixed but still took our spot with a pickup. Then my son went after the freind that told him to take our spot. They are not smiling any more. Can't wait until this season. We will be there early and take our original spot and split them up. If they run their generator cord under our trailer we will cut the cord .

As soon as you put it up there will be another one there.

One of my peeves is there no other Mopars at the track!

That sucks. At my local track (Lucas Oil Raceway) in the pro category, Mopars make up over 40% of the field on most weeks...it is a wonderful thing.

Sounds like a little friendly competition LOL. And you pay for that?

Yeah Mark, we need a big Mopar banner to hang in front of OUR pits.
