I wasn't necessarily looking for one, but it found me. At least that's what I'm telling the wife.... Wednesday I am picking up a mid 70's 440 out of a motorhome. For $200, I can't afford not to go get it. So now, in 5 or 6 years, I'll have to decide if the 383 or the 440 goes in the 68 B'cuda ragtop, or do I use the 440 to stroke the 383....... oh, the choices at hand.

Not around here. There's a motorhome 440 / TF on CL right now for nearly a K I think

I hear ya on the 1k. When we were building Jake's car, I sold a complete, needing rebuilt, 440 for 1k so we could bring home a truck load of parts from Carlisle. I knew sooner or later a cheap one would find me....lol

So as things go the way they go..... the heads on the 440 are junk. Dude left them partially exposed upside down to the elements and water apparently pooled in 2 of the bowls on each head. Has some rust in 4 of the 8 cylinders that a .040 over bore should take care of...... now I have a 63? (I think that's the year he told me) 383 that's been stored inside for 30 yrs that found me for $100. Complete from the 2 bbl carb to oil pan, minus the alternator and ps brackets.

Can't afford to pass this one up either. Definitely thinking mild stroker by combining the 2...... thoughts?
