Pilot bushing depth

My replacement pilot bushing is currently flush with end of crank. Is this deep enough. Old bushing was spread by the taper on the transmission pilot shaft I think.

You sure it was not spread by whoever drove the last one in? Should be plenty deep. Normally, you can substitute the newer "Jeep style" pilot that goes in the converter bore, so there should be plenty of leeway

Yeah, that looks like it was beaten in (with a punch?) and then filed to remove the distortion...
New one looks fine.

Thanks for both responses. Did not want to find out not deep enough when stabbing transmission.
