Is there a way to use the bolt in style pistol grip handles in a Hurst shifter that takes a push in handle? I sold the super comp. shifter I had and bought the one I have now for some reason, and it uses the push in shifter. I'd like to use one of the pistol grip levers when I put the car back together if anyone has any advice. I'd like to avoid buying another $200 shifter mechanism.
Thanks,
Jon

Here's what Brewer's said in case anyone ever searches for this topic:
"The best way is to change the tower assy in the shifter to the 2-bolt
style. I have seen quite a few that just got drilled through the top to
accept the later shifter handles."

Well on mine I have the slip in type pistol grip on my Duster. And it slid right in. There are these spacers on each side inside the shifter that locks it in. I've seen people drill thru and put bolts across the shifter, spacers. Two holes upper and lower to hold the handle in place. Either way it won't come out. Ed

Did you slip the bolt in handle into your slip in shifter, or do they make handles for slip in?
Thanks,
Jon

The shifter handle I have has a notch in it that locks when you slide it in. It also has the holes. I guess you can do it either way.
