Hey guys I am in the process of building a 408(406act.) for my 96 ram. I bought an indy stroker kit. They claim that all of the parts are from mopar. I need to know if the pistons are hypertectic or not so I can set the ring gap. I would like to keep working on the motor this weekend. There is a number on the pistons 2306 and underneath that number is 05. the kit from indy was there cheapest kit at 995.00. the ring gaps i have now are .017"-.018" top, .013"-.016" middle, and the oil rings are .025"-.030". The rings are sealed power non file fit #E-458K-20. If I have to have a bigger gap can these rings be filed? also the pistons are .020" over, and does anyone know the cc volume for these pistons, they are dished with one long valve relief. any information would be greatly appreciated.

Those pistons just by price are not forged. But, not all hypers take the large top ring gap. I'd suggest relaxing for the day and call Indy tomorrow because you really want get that right for power and economy reasons too.
