O.k... I think I got the crank issue under control. So I figure I might as well put in some pistions and rings and maybe up the ponys on my 360. What do you guys use? Th emotor is a standard Bore. not looking for anything crazy.

what are your take on the Federal-Mogul line?

Or should I spend the extra Money and get a set of Kieth Blacks?
The kieth blacks are twice the money. Are they worth it?

Budget racing... doncha love it?

ya get what you pay for...you probably don't have to get keith black to a quaility piston but you certainly don't want to go with a non name brand piston..I've had no experiecne with federal but i have heard they are alright.

What i'm trying to do is get that compretion up in this 360. from what I understand on this motor. it's crap ;)

What would you recommend for a street rod? I want to make power, but i'm not looking for a 11 second car. I want to get this 360 to about 325 - 350 HP.

If you are want to bump the compression ratio up, definately go with the KB107. The Speed-Pro sits too far down in the hole, plus they have 4 valve reliefs. Which heads are you using? How many cc's?

A set of KB107's can be had for about $185 from places like Summit, Jegs or PAW. The Speed Pro CP116 piston is equivalent to the KB and will give you the same compression but is slightly more expensive because of the coating on the skirts.

Even the cheapy Speed Pros will raise the compression about a 1/2 point compared to the stock dished psiton.

right now it looks like stock heads until I get the money up for a nicer set. I have to tear down th ebottem end because of a bad crank and bearings. So I figure I would get the rolling assembly done while i'm there. but to answer your question. Just the stock 360 heads and I will have the new springs for the 278 Cam.

Id go with the 107s and have the block deck so the pistons are at zero deck hieght. This way if you get a better set of closed chambered heads you'll have perfect quench with a .039" thick gasket.

Yeah, what Adam said. With Eddy heads, you would end up with about 10.8:1. That was what I was going to do with my 360. :supz:
