Pivot seals

I replaced my wiper pivot seals almost 2 years ago and they are leaking again. Took a road trip to WPB and during the drive in the torrential downpour on the way down got a drip per second while the wipers were on.
How long should the pivot seals last on a daily driver? The car is not garage kept and the seals look to be destroyed from the FL sun. Something else I've noticed is that the pivot is now exiting the whole a little lower than it did when I replaced them, like the wiper arms are soooo close to the paint at the bottom.

I'm sure the black foam seals will take a beating from UV rays. Did you install the grease zerk? If the pivots are full of grease it's gotta help keep water out.
 
I did install the zerk fittings last time around and pumped them full of grease. I doubt the water is getting through the pivot, but I'll have to see what is really going on when I go dash diving. I do know that there was water dripping off of the base and linkage of the pivot....
