OK, so this is the general anything goes thread.
Do any of you Polka Dance?
I have a friend who like to Polka Dance. I don't really dance as I don't have much rhythm and often loose the beat in the song. I was just wondering if any of you Polka, how often and where do you do your Polka dancing at?

decades ago, I made trip from Missouri thru Ia, ( picked up friend), went to Minn to look at a horse. spent the night in this small rural town , sat night, got invited to the Am. Legion for the weekly poka dance.
when we left I could do it somewhat. Never had so much fun, great people!!!! ( give me 2 beers and I can even fly!???) LOL

There's a little tiny town in northern Michigan called Branch, and in town there is only a small store and a bar called Riley's Rondevous! On Sunday nights they have polka dancing, and the turnout is surprising! The odd thing is that there is no cover to go inside and eat or listen to the band! However, if you want to dance there is a $3 cover charge!!

We go everytime we're up there for salmon and steelhead season! Not afraid to polka, and it's a lot of fun, but takes some getting used to! Especially when your partner is 70 something and knows every step!! Geof
