Does anyone here have any experience with POR-15? or Herculiner?
Please share some tips.

What is the best product to use to ensure a good, thorough/complete undercoating (*the whole car, inside and out/trunk and everything).
Do you paint some kind of top-coat after applying the POR-15? The car is white... the Herculiner available in stock here is BLACK.
Anyone has a better result with other product?

Thank you in advance...

I used herculiner on My 96 Dakota it was messy and it smelled for like 6 months . I would not advise undercoating a car with it !
Not unless it's on a rotisserie...
More would wind up on you and the ground than the undercarriage of the car!

The floors in my Barracuda had a lot of surface rust so I used Por-15 on the whole floor of my Barracuda. I followed all the directions. Works good but after 7 years the drivers side floor has rusted out a little where it was pretty rusty. I didn't coat underneath the car, that's probably why. I also used Por-15 on the rusty hood of my van, and I did not top coat it. Within a year the sun had faded it and the hood was rustier than when I started! It was a big disaster.

I'm now using Master Series Silver Undercoat on the '69 Valiant and I like it a lot better. I'm not so sure about the colour, but you can paint over it easily, unlike Por-15. It's a lot smoother to paint, you can paint over it, it's not susceptible to damage from the sun like Por-15.

Thank you everyone. Does anyone else have other products to use?

Neil, you've been always such a delight to deal with, thank you for the wealth of info that you've been sharing with me.
You Rock!!!! :salute:

P.S.
Where did you get those stuff? I have called the website, the lady never answers the phone.
Any distributor in the U.S. that you know of?

POR-15 is good stuff but... it is really $, does not tend to keep well once the can is opened, will stain your hands if you get it on your skin and makes really bad fumes. That being said I coated part of my tractor with the stuff some time ago and you can hit it with a hammer without chipping it. I've never used Herculiner but SEM Rustshield has been good to me as well.
