been thinking of just ideas for my 71 duster and one thing was changing the location of the emergency brake. is this possible and how hard would it be?
possible to change e-brake from under dash center console

I would think the hardware from the F/M/J bodies would bolt in giving you an underdash foot operated brake. Installing a handbrake on the driveline tunnel would be more problematic. The mechanism would need to be reinforced on the underside to keep it from pulling through the floor pan. The operating cable would needed to be routed in such a way to keep them from fouling the driveshaft and the exhaust system as well as minimize rub on the driveline tunnel. Neat idea, though. I'm interested to see what you develop.
The mechaism would need to be positioned well to the left for reasons mentioned above. Into the factory console isn't an option but to add onto the left side of it is doable.
Disadvantages to me are the nature of the beast.. They are a stick in the ribs at times and a garbage / coin collector always.
