i think i might have a great idea :!: . today it dawned on me that alot of the questions in the mopar exhaust section related to one common theme. what kind to buy, and what do they sound like? well i have watched giggy's duster video, and thought this is the kind of stuff that really helps. i think this video should be sent to the mopar exhaust section as a stick thread. anyone else that has either videos or just sound files of their set up could then post to this data bank. the posts should list engine size, compression, cam specs, headers or not, tube size( if it applies) , pipe size, type of muffler, h pipe or x or none. i think these are the only things that contribute to the sound of the exhaust sound. posts can be either a video like giggy's or a simple wave file. length should be no longer than 25-35 seconds. should include idle quality ,and a few revs of the gas. (see giggy's it is perfect) :yawinkle: what do you think........ :thumblef:
Sounds like a great idea to me. Ya might want to have some type of standard for how far away you record it from.
i thought about that too......but i think how ever giggy's is done is about perfect. a database like this would be awesome for reference.
I agree, it is a good idea. If you notice from mine you can really tell a difference between standing right behind it with the camera up at eye level, and then when I had it at outlet level it sounded different. But this would be a great idea, when I was looking for mufflers I would have really loved to have heard different clips in order to choose from.
exactly right giggy.......i hate it when these muffler companies offer sound bites of stock trucks and suvs. sometimes a mustang, or camaro, or a rice burner. none of which is what we want to hear. i really like this idea, can't say it enough!!
Well I posted it in another thread, but I will repost link here to clip of my Duster. http://mywebpages.comcast.net/giggy/Duster.mpg It's a 340 bored .030, cam - .540 / .234 @ .050 intake - .525 / .246 @ .050 exhaust 10.1 Compression TTI headers - 2.5" exhaust through Dynomax Super Turbos Eddie heads with Eddie 750 carb
hey thanks adam! i think this is going to be great. is it possible to move this to the mopar exhaust section and bring giggys video in with it? it needs to really be there........thanks again!

Since we can't attach a .wav file to a post (Valid file extensions: bmp doc gif jpe jpeg jpg pdf png psd txt zip), any suggestions on a place that will host all these sound clips permanently??
