Hi,

I have a brake booster in my car that is very old. It must be changed. Wich obe is the right one? Does somebody have a link on ebay or something?
I have in the front disc brakes and in the rear 10" drums. My master cylinder is already new. I need only the power brake booster.

Greetings

I also have a very old booster. Its almost as old as my wife. Its coming 48 years old this year. The boosters still working just fine. My wife? not so much.
You didnt say yours quit, so why does it need replacing?

Replacement for early small diameter dual diaphragm boosters aren't so easy to find. might be best to send yours to booster Dewey for rebuild. I don't have a link, just read a lot of good feedback on his services.

The original larger size boosters are easy to find (even Autozone has them)

I sent my Kelsy Hayes booster to him. Besides looking brand new, it works as it's supposed to. Here's his web site: http://www.boosterdeweyexchange.com/

I suspect they don't have any Autozones, Advanced Autos or O'Reilly's where he lives in Germany :D

Which is why I asked what was his not doing. Perhaps we can lead him to a repair solution. Theres really only three things that can go wrong with a booster 1) the diaphragm developes a leak, or 2) the reaction valve quits,or 3) the valve breaks. The first two are often repairable. No3 not so much.
And all too often the booster gets blamed for stuff it is not involved in.
Jus sayin.....

To the OP Jan.
I just rebuilt the Power Brake booster in my 69 B-Cuda. It was the dual diaphram Midland-Ross type. Their are two diameter sizes, for the Diaphrams, 6.250 in, and 7.0 (I think is the other size), mine was 6.250. I searched for a rebuilt for almost a year. Their are none around, and the major rebuilders don't rebuild them, for lack of parts availability.

I found a rebuld kit at "Harmon Classic Brakes". George was very help full, and I now have power brakes again. I rebuilt it myself. The hardest part was getting it to seal, while holding a good vacuum. I finally hooked it up to my 67 B-Cudas vac line and it sealed itself.

The "Factory Service Manual" is your freind when doing this, if not just for all the pics. Use silicone grease on all the O-Rings also.

The whole cost was about $225.00, and thier was a $50.00 core charge on the diaphram with the metal hub, which was the bad one.

Hope this helps barracudadave67
