When I started my build I sent my PS gearbox in for reconditioning. After five years bench I install it, plumb pump & new hoses and it is pouring PS fluid out of the output shaft seal. Yep, of course the rebuilds was A Cardone. Need input, can I fix this in the car? Car is 1967 Barracuda born with the PS equipment that is on the car now.
TIA-------DR and yes, I have the FSM.

You're talking the seal above the pitman arm? yes I have pulled those out in frame but it is very trickey.
But first be absolutely sure it is that seal that is in fact leaking, and not something higher up, like the two little o-rings under the control valve housing, which is much more common.
After the arm is off, you will be able to see the seal. Check to see if it is pushed up far enough to see smooth shiny output shaft.

Can I get the replacement o-rings I need?

I think with the pitman arm removed you will find a tin dust cap, a snap ring, and a shaft seal. I remove the snap ring, start engine, steer to one stop and let the fluid pressure blow the old seal out into my pan.

I would also recommend checking the hose connection at the return nipple on the box. Mine had a hose clamp installed there too tight and the pressure on the end of the hose led to a leak. Put the correct kind of clamp on the end of that return and that solved the problem.

Also check the hoses. I had return hose with terminal dry-rot that had me chasing shadows for a while.
