I have power brake booster set up in my 68 barracuda. All drum. My concern is that my brake pedal is loose(travel) about 1" before theres preasure. I then looked at the booster rod at the rear of the booster and i can move it in and out ? Is that ok.?

What’s a “manual power brake booster”?
And that much play is not good no matter the type of brakes.

Some pushrod travel has to remain during which no braking is done. During this time the piston in the master has parked and opened the compensating port. In the master it's only about .125 inch travel. But with a 7:1 pedal ratio, becomes .875 under your toe.
With a booster the pushrod is split with some of it on the m/c side of the diaphragm and some on the pedal side. The pedal side is inserted into the control valve rather loosely If you bang on it you'll probably bust the valve.
If the booster works aka the pedal drops when you start the engine after having emptied the reservoir, and the pedal gets hard and does not sink, and the pedal still has several inches left under it in normal useage, and you don't hear any hissing during brake-application; then IMO, everything seems normal.
