Hi! Does anybody know if steeringbox from a later A body -67-77 will fit on my -66 valiant signet, please reply. Best regards from Sweden. Mange

I went from a std steer'in box, in my 66dart wagon, to a powersteer'in box from a 71 dart!!...Only issues I had was clearance with the manifold, and it probablly wuz contributed to have'in a 69 340 manifold in a 66...I had to do sum grinding, but it all worked out...

Yes, it will fit, all Mopar power steering boxes were the same externally. You will either need to score a power column or shorten the manual column. Post 72 boxes may have a larger sector shaft which will be incompatible with your current pitman arm.

Why would you want to do this?

Not to hi-jack the thread but why is it that flaming river states their manual box is for

Manual Steering Box for Mopar 66-82 A,B,C,E Bodies

All New Design Quick Ratio 16:1 Direct Bolt in!

wouldn't these fit the early a's too? I called and talked to flaming river but the tech department could not give me a solid reason why they don't work. just, " It would have problems" The expert was notin that day......

You are right, they are all the same and should fit the 63-65. Only diff in the idler and pitman arms. But these are always year specific.

I used tha idler arm for my 66(because it wuz new) and the pitman arm that wuz on the 71 geerbox...I checked the idler arms aginst each other, and seen no differnce???...Not dispute'in ya word about being listed az differnt, but juss say'in that my 66 worked with a 71 pitman arm....heerz a pic
